When the World Shakes, Awakening Matters Most


Under the eclipse, I caught myself scrolling through headlines thick with fear and division. It struck me: of course the noise would peak now. The dark always stirs loudest when the light is strongest — when the collective is on the verge of seeing more clearly.


We are living in turbulent times. The skies may bring us eclipses, alignments, and portals, but those are just mirrors of what’s already unfolding here on Earth. The real question isn’t about the cosmic events themselves — it’s about how we navigate them. Do we let fear pull us backwards, or do we keep walking forward into awakening?

Portals and Eclipses: Why They Have Always Mattered


Across cultures and centuries, eclipses and celestial alignments were never seen as ordinary. Ancient peoples believed they marked thresholds — moments when the veil between seen and unseen thinned, when choices carried extra weight.


  • In Mesopotamia and China, eclipses were recorded as signs of great change in kingdoms.

  • The Maya and Inca watched them as markers of cosmic cycles, windows of renewal and release.

  • Indigenous and shamanic traditions often treated them as times of ceremony, when the community could align more deeply with spirit.


Whether seen as omens or opportunities, the message was the same: eclipses and portals are amplifiers. They magnify what is already in motion — both shadow and awakening.

Moments of upheaval magnify everything — both our collective shadows and our potential for growth. That’s why it can feel like we’re being tested, stretched, even tempted to shut down. And that’s also why choosing how we show up matters so much.


The “dark” knows this. Not fairy tale villains, but forces — energetic or systemic — that thrive on chaos, division, and despair. Their strategy is simple: scatter the light, hijack attention, and feed on fear.


But here’s the truth: fear of the dark only strengthens it. Awakening spiritually in turbulent times means learning how to stay present and keep your energy clear, no matter how loud the world becomes.

So how do we stay grounded, keep awakening, and refuse to go backwards when the world feels unsteady?


  1. Stay aware of your inner state. Notice when you’re spiraling into outrage, panic, or despair. Awareness itself breaks the hook.

  2. Ground into your body. When the world feels like static, the body is home base. Walk, breathe, touch the earth.

  3. Choose frequencies that feed light. Humor, compassion, creativity — these aren’t distractions. They’re the antidote.

  4. Hold neutrality. Witness the turbulence without being consumed by it. Neutrality is clarity, not apathy.

  5. Remember awakening is contagious. Just as fear spreads quickly, so does steadiness. Your grounded presence ripples further than you think.

Awakening isn’t about escaping hard times; it’s about learning to keep growing through them. Turbulence doesn’t mean regression unless we let it. In fact, these very moments of pressure are where awakening roots deepest.


So when fear runs loud, don’t mistake it for proof that you’ve lost your way. Take it as a reminder of the stakes — and of your strength. Breathe, ground, stay clear. Keep moving forward.


The history of eclipses and portals reminds us that these times have always carried weight — and they always will. But weight doesn’t have to mean fear. It can mean significance. It can mean opportunity.


This doesn’t mean you can’t watch the news, protest, or work for change. It simply means being very aware of where your energy is going and why. What you put your thoughts to changes your reality.
